Part of You

The sun was burning high that afternoon,
The heat gave me a sense of suffocation,
Closed inside four walls, (I!) needed some room,
I got out to the streets of desolation...

Chaos ruled upon those streets of rage,
Men trapped in machines struggled for space,
I cried: «Lord, pick me with thy hand out of this cage!»,
My perspectives, you see, were a disgrace…

I walked on through that frantic mob of zombies;
I crossed those gardens made of grey cement,
Until I reached this cafeteria called «Tom’s Breeze»,
A place loaded with sadness and resentment.

And there you were, drinking up your coffee,
Gently, with a slight, delightful fear;
I said: «I’m Jules; I’m poor and I am lonely.
Would you allow me to call you dear?».

You said you’d shoot the apple on my head;
But darling, you are not William Tell;
So guess where the arrow fell…

As consequence you clearly broke my heart;
By negligence I’m sadly out of glue;
I stair in panic, myself shattered apart,
Now, what is left of me is a part of you…

You caught me with the corner of your eye;
You said your name, your aims and your profession;
Your legs were crossed, your lips drawing a smile:
Your ways tide up in me any reaction…

«Say, what you do, I said, ain’t very nice!
I’d risk to say it’s a little bit inhuman!»
But now I see you have this strange device
That seems to sweeten all that’s painful to man.

You said you’d shoot the tree top right ahead;
But darling, you are not Robin Hood!
So guess were the arrow stood…

As consequence you clearly broke my heart;
By negligence I’m sadly out of glue;
I stair in panic, myself shattered apart,
Now, what is left of me is a part of you…

After a drink or two our conversation
Went to the field of spades and cavalry.
I said I’d be your knight through all privations,
You said you’d be the queen ruling most ruthlessly.

We talked of legends, myths and fairy tales,
We talked of deeds and dignifying things;
Then, suddenly, you put my heart for sale,
Outside the balcony of you pathetic dreams…

You said you’d shoot the fly upon the bread;
But darling, you are not Ivanhoe;
Now guess where the arrow goes…

As consequence you clearly broke my heart;
By negligence I’m sadly out of glue;
I stair in panic, myself shattered apart,
Now, what is left of me is a part of you…

This shattered piece of me is part of you.
Now look the foolish things a fool can do
And laugh about it, please,
Perhaps with it
This cutting sense of nauseam I feel
‘ll be a little less a loss and lesser real,
N’ maybe a little more or less ‘ll be through.

Cos’ yeah,
You said you’d shoot the fruit,
You said you’d shoot the tree’s head,
You said you’d shoot the fly,
But you shot my heart instead…

Now, why the hell were you so bad?
Was it by incompetence
Or do you have a twisted head?
Do you have a twisted head?!

Is it revenge against the living men

For all the joys you had that had no taste,
For all possible, despicable, human waste,
For all the pitiful tears I shed in vain,
For all the circumstances of my shame,
For all the pain, for all the loss, for all the hate,
For all the sunsets inside your human shape,
For all the dark sides of the moon inside your cave,
For all the earth the years put inside your grave,
For all the days, for all the days, for all the days…?
